Job offer for a researcher from the Ukraine 2

Job offer for a researcher from the Ukraine:

position in GAG Computational Group

Project: “Mechanistic insights into the specificity of glycosaminoglycan interactions with regulatory proteins” at GAG Computaional Group (www.comp-gag.org) at Faculty of Chemistry, University of Gdańsk, Poland.

The goal: is to understand molecular basis of the specificity in protein-glycosaminoglycan interactions by means of molecular modeling approaches, some of which will be developed in this study. The work will be carried out within  intensive collaborations with NMR experiments performed on same molecular systems at the University of Leipzig. The result of this research will serve to guide the design of new methods for tissue regeneration and healing.

Requirements: Master/PhD in Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Computer Sciences; experience with modeling techniques as molecular docking, molecular dynamics of biomolecular systems; experience with protein-carbohydrate systems is an advantage; experience with Linux environment; experience with scripting (python, bash, awk, R); interest in the interdisciplinary aspect of the project; proficiency in written and spoken English; excellent presenting and communication skills.

The person should have been employed by a research unit in the Ukraine prior to the beginning of the war (24.02.2022) and moved to Poland after this date.

Research tasks: molecular docking of glycosaminoglycans and their mimetics; molecular dynamics-based analysis of protein-glycosaminoglycan, protein-small molecules, protein-DNA/RNA systems; participation in writing publications and presentation of the results at scientific meetings.

Financial source: BEETHOVEN CLASSIC Grant from the The National Science Centre of Poland.

Terms of employment: salary 8333,33 PLN month (brutto brutto), maximum 1 year.

Starting date: before 30.06.2022.

Collaborations within the project: University of Leipzig (Research Group of prof. Daniel Huster).
